(Re)Connection Weekend: Learning Through Tools and Togetherness

Join us for two-days immersed in celebrating the power of community and learning how to take the next step. Experience effective tools for (re)connecting to self, others, and environment informed by somatic experiencing, eco-therapy, art therapy and more. The overall tone of our time together will be of optimism, resiliency, and growth. ( learning is involved, community is key).


When: 

Saturday Sept 30, 8am-5pm gather/learn/practice

Sunday Oct 1, 8am-3pm gather/learn/practice + 5pm-8pm Harvest Moon celebration potluck 

Where: 

A 15-minute drive east of Canmore - directions will be sent to all registered participants.

Cost: 

Free / by donation for the weekend of facilitation, plus any cost associated with contributing to our community potluck and closing evening.

Who is Facilitating? 

John Coleman, PhD: John is a wellness and high-performance practitioner specializing in opening pathways to personal evolution. Through his doctorate research in performance psychology, practice as a registered body-mind therapist, and connections with various spiritual traditions, John has cultivated a unique skill-set. He has an expanded vision for his clients. His progressive and relevant contributions to the field of human performance enhancement are internationally sought after. 

Sydney Badger, RCC:  Sydney supports professionals and recreationalists in the adventure community through nervous system and polyvagal informed practice. She holds an undergraduate degree in outdoor recreation leadership, a graduate degree in counselling, and is trained in Somatic Experiencing trauma therapy. Sydney has spent over a decade working professionally in the outdoor industry as an instructor, river guide, ski coach and avalanche educator. She connects with clients across the country through her virtual clinic, Back to Earth Counselling.  

What to expect? 

During this weekend immersion you will be invited to be part of a welcoming, empowering and laughter-loving community. You can expect to: 

Learn 

  • A bit more about your nervous system 

  • Why and how we are wired for connection 

  • How our brain, body and community respond to trauma 

  • Tools to deepen and expand your connection to self and others 


Experience

  • The badass-ness of being with community who “get it”

  • Confronting stuckness, blocks and limits with compassion and courage

  • Celebrate stepping into a sense of relief, lightness and hope.

  • Being on the land with cool people. 

What to bring? 

Pack to comfortably be inside or out, noting that weather in the Bow Valley late September can be a bit of all seasons! 

  • Journal and pen 

  • Lunch, snacks and water/tea 

  • Ideas for a potluck food item and “tickle-trunk” item…did someone say fun hats??!!

Camping Option:

If you would like to camp onsite that is an option. The fee is $22.50 - please get in touch if you’d like to register and use that option and we can provide more details.
